28 Feb 3 Online Resources for Entrepreneurial Success
Every first-time entrepreneur faces a steep learning curve. If you are considering jumping into the entrepreneurial waters, serial entrepreneur Scott Woolley of Delray Beach recommends that you do your homework first and learn all you can from successful entrepreneurs who have already cleared the challenges you will face starting out.
In the entrepreneurial world, having a mentor can make all the difference. But these days, with the health and safety protocols in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19, it can be hard to find a mentor.
While many things have successfully migrated from the real world to the virtual world, networking isn’t one of them. You might not be able to casually strike up a conversation with a successful businessperson at a charity event or business gathering, but you can do a lot of homework online.
Online Resources for Entrepreneurs
In addition to publications like Entrepreneur magazine, which has a robust digital presence, Scott Woolley says there are a host of online educational resources that offer first timers as well as established small businesses a wealth of information – and in many cases, you can access it at no cost.
- edX
According to Patel, “This free site currently has over 300 courses on a variety of topics, including ‘Financial Analysis and Decision Making’ and ‘Entrepreneurship 101: Who is your customer?’”
- Coursera
You can access free courses from more than 100 different educational partners through Coursera. Patel says the topics range from niche subjects for particular fields to more generalized offerings, like “Innovation for Entrepreneurs: From Idea to Marketplace” from the University of Maryland.
- Alison
No one is suggesting you contact your old girlfriend or your high school bestie for advice. As Patel explains, Alison is another great platform with “free online courses from some of the most well-known names on the internet today, including Google, Microsoft, and Macmillan. With over 4 million users and over 600 courses already, it covers topics such as economic literacy, personal development and business/enterprise skills.”
If you are considering an entrepreneurial opportunity, and have a specific question, feel free to contact Scott Woolley in Delray Beach, Florida.
